Mason was illegally purchased and possessed. In addition, he
lived a life of teasing and torment. The owners were finally
forced into surrendering Mason to a licensed facility that was
having difficulty handling him because of his aggressive nature.
They in turn gave him to us. Since he has been here (Since
March 2007) he has become very understanding of our routine
and has stopped charging the enclosure when people come to see
him.
He seems to really like his safe haven in the sun and is coming to
understand no one here is a threat. We are hoping with
regular intervention he will continue to accept us and tolerate us
enough to be used in our bigger educational exhibits.
